Made by renters, for renters.

Get Your Deposit Back

If you moved out of a Wyoming rental, the practical questions are when the rental agreement ended, when you gave the landlord your new mailing address, whether the landlord claimed damage, and whether the landlord sent the refund and itemized deductions on time.

DepositBackUSA helps you understand the Wyoming timing rule, protect the record, and use the right written step at the right time.

Start based on your situation

Watch this step

Give the owner or property manager your new mailing address in writing within 30 days after termination and keep proof.

Wyoming ties the timing rule to the rental termination date and the date the landlord receives your new mailing address. If you send the address by email, text, portal message, or mail, save the record.

The short version

Wyoming is not just a 30-day state. The landlord must deliver or mail the deposit balance, any prepaid rent balance, and a written itemization of deductions within 30 days after termination of the rental agreement or within 15 days after receiving your new mailing address, whichever is later.

If there is damage to the rental unit, that period can be extended by 30 days. Utility deposits have their own timing rules, so do not mix them into the ordinary deposit deadline.

This is a system, not one letter

One demand letter can help, but Wyoming deposit disputes usually move better when the written record is built in order: move-out, new mailing address, possession return, deadline follow-up, statute-backed entitlement notice, and final demand if needed.

  1. Step 1 gives the new mailing address and documents move-out.
  2. Step 2 follows up after the Wyoming timing problem appears.
  3. Step 3 presses Wyoming Statutes Sections 1-21-1207 and 1-21-1208, itemization, and deduction limits.
  4. Step 4 gives one final written chance before escalation.
